New Labour manifesto confirmed to be 95% froth
The Government is to introduce legislation allowing party manifestos to contain 95% froth and only 5% commitment, starting with the New Labour manifesto. The Campaign for Real Accountability, Camra, issued a furious response. Spokesman Tangley Beard said, "A thick head may be appropriate for some parties, but New Labour were elected on account of 100% commitment."
Junior minister Melanie Felony defended the move. "It offers a good deal for consumers. I mean voters. 100% commitment is far too expensive, and would cost New Labour millions of pounds in donations."
